A single-family home situated within Sydney’s inner west; alterations to the existing ground floor accommodate a newly reconfigured kitchen and living space, opening up towards the rear and exposing the presence of an existing garden. Openings in walls that previously divided the space now allow visual continuity from front to back, and provoke a sense of openness to the plan. A new addition to the floor above, whilst compact, maximises amenity to the occupants through the implementation of two bathrooms and an integrated laundry. Both here and on the uppermost level, new bedrooms and adjacent workspaces are framed within generous openings, celebrating newfound access to natural light and views from the site towards its leafy surroundings.
